Children's Ministry Registration 2017-2018
September 10th - May 20th, 2018
At Atonement Lutheran Church our Children’s Ministry programs and events are intended to come alongside parents and teach children ages three-years-old through 5th Grade about God and Jesus, as well as help them grow strong in their faith and relationship with God.
Sunday School is 9:30 – 10:30 am most Sundays of the school year. During this hour, children ages three-years-old (by August 1st) through 5th Grade will learn about the people and smaller stories that are all a part of God’s Story. Children will worship and learn through skits, videos, storytelling, and activities. Three year olds must be bathroom trained before enrolling in Sunday School.
Kindergartners through 5th Graders will meet most Wednesday nights from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. During this time children will learn the foundational truths of the Christian faith through thematic lessons. Time will be spent in worship, learning, and fellowship.
DONATIONS: Donations will go towards the cost of curriculum, snacks, and crafts; then towards making our time together more exciting and fun with staging, props, etc. Any donation is greatly appreciated! Suggested donation: $20 per family. However, if you do not wish to donate at this time, please use the discount code NOFEE when you register. Thank you!
Student Ministries Registration 2017-2018
September 13th - May 16th, 2018
"Life Transformation for the Glory of God" is our vision for Student Ministries at Atonement! Our dynamic, Christ-centered programming for grades 6-12 helps students build relationships with mentors and peers, learn in large and small groups, and serve in our community and world. Students are invited to walk with mentors throughout their years in Confirmation, and then remain connected with their faith family throughout their high school years in Elevate.
Confirmation and Elevate
Our confirmation program is designed to provide 6th-10th grade students with a space to explore their identity in Christ, their place in the history of faith, and how they are called to live out this faith in their world. 6th and 7th grade students are taught together, but will expand upon different aspects of teaching in grade-specific small group study. 8th and 9th grade then are taught individually, with their own age-specific groups. Students remain with the same mentor(s) and grade specific group throughout Confirmation, and are encouraged to maintain these connections beyond their 10th grade year!
The program begins in 6th grade where students focus on Luther's Small Catechism and learn how our faith has been passed through the ages while also discussing how we can continue the passing on of faith. This goes through 7th grade with an added emphasis on exploring our identity as an LCMC congregation.
In 8th grade, students specifically explore the epic of salvation while we study the Bible as one continuous story. Then, in 9th grade, students carry the knowledge of their faith heritage while learning to put it into action in their day-to-day life.
We confirm students in the fall of sophomore year. These sophomores will then fully shift to our senior high programming, Elevate, where various topics about the life of faith will be explored more deeply in fellowship with others.
Student Ministries will meet on Wednesday nights during the school year.
Confirmation will meet from 6:30-8 p.m. These students will gather in the Youth Room at 6:30 for an hour of large and small group teaching, fellowship, and snacks. They will then be joined by Elevate in the Ark at 7:30 for a shared time of worship, fellowship, and a few wild, Ark-sized moments along the way. All 6th-8th grade students will then be dismissed at 8pm.
** All 9th and 10th grade students are then invited to stay through Elevate as they are able!! **
Elevate will meet from 7:30 to 9 p.m. These students will join the Confirmation students in the Ark for a shared time of worship, fellowship, and Ark-sized fun at 7:30, and will then transition at 8 p.m. to their hour of snacks, fellowship, and teaching in the Youth Room. Elevate students are then welcome to stay for additional fellowship until 9:30.
Additional events, retreats, small groups or book studies, service opportunities, and other surprises will also take place throughout the year on various nights, to be communicated via email newsletter and social media.
Donations will go towards the cost of snacks, curriculum, and youth events. All donations are greatly appreciated! Suggested donation: $20 per family. However, if you do not wish to donate at this time, please use the discount code NOFEE when you register. Thank you!

“Wonderful You” will include information about how young ladies’ bodies and hearts are changing as they grow into adulthood. Included will be information regarding basic anatomy and physiology of the reproductive system, as well as effects peers have on our well-being with a Biblical perspective of body image and self-esteem. We want our girls to feel they are beautiful and precious in God’s eyes and our eyes. We will also be making a special “Wonderful You” craft as part of the event. There will be a catered lunch provided; we want to make this a special experience for all the young ladies, moms, grandmas, etc attending!
This event is for young ladies ages 4th-6th grade and a female guardian; all girls attending MUST register with a female adult that will be present throughout the entire event. Registration is $5 per person; please complete a separate registration form for each person attending.
